OUR TRADITION

What is Episcopal?

Episcopal is the name of our “branch of the Jesus movement.” The adjective “episcopal" means “concerning a bishop or bishops”; our churches are under the leadership of elected bishops. We are a member of the global Anglican Communion.

The Via Media

Anglicanism offers a via media, or “middle way” between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism, grounded in scripture, reason, and tradition. Our worship services are often described as a blend of both Roman Catholic and Protestant traditions.

The Way of Love

The Way of Love is an intentional commitment to follow Jesus using a set of ancient practices:
Turn • Learn • Pray • Worship • Bless • Go • Rest
Our worship services contain time and space to reflect on each practice and their role in our lives.
