Organ Concert Series: Carina Brackin

Carina Brackin earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, studying with Dr. Timothy Olsen. After graduating, she earned her Associate Certificate from the American Guild of Organists and spent a year studying organ at the University of Notre Dame with Dr. Craig Cramer and working at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. In addition to playing numerous solo concerts including recitals at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, and Bruton Parish Church, Mrs. Brackin has placed in both regional and national music competitions. Mrs. Brackin has also served as the Organist for Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville, NC, and Organ Scholar for Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, VA. She currently serves as the Associate Director of Music at Saint Bede, in Williamsburg, VA, where she directs four handbell choirs, the cantor program, and the Hispanic ensemble, and accompanies the adult and children’s choirs. Her program will be an exploration of the sacraments of the Catholic Church and the organ music that accompanies them.
