Heart of Christmas Fair
2017 Christmas Fair dates: Nov 30th–Dec 2nd

Marblehead celebrates its Christmas Walk the first full weekend in December, and St. Michael’s joins in with our Heart of Christmas Fair. All proceeds from the Fair support the mission and programs at St. Michael's.

The fun begins on Thursday night, with carols and a tree lighting on the Washington Street/Summer Street lawn. Warm yourselves up with hot cider and chili in a bag at the tent. Friday night's Preview Party is an opportunity to snap up the very best crafts, jewelry, baked goods, chutney, Christmas wreaths, and “Rich Uncle” antiques and collectables. See a sample of previous year's goods at our Flickr site. There will be music, a Wassail bowl, wine, punch, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and desserts. We also invite artisans and authors to set up a table with handmade items and other creations. Goods from this year's artisans include: Heidi O'Brien's flannel mittens,
Jackie Lynch’s Marblehead themed pillows & totes, Angela Cook’s pottery, Tracy Finn’s paintings on notecards, Giane Fuller’s shawls, Christine Mendyck’s jewelry, Wolf Meadow Farm’s cheeses, Zap Vidolov's candles, Tzortzis Family Olive Oil, McMahon's Food, Made with Love specialty jewelry and utensils, J&J Graphics locally-themed calendars and cards, and Bakabröd Swedish seedbread.

On Saturday, the fun continues as bids heat up for silent auction items. Come in from the cold for artisinal hot cocoa and baked goods, and a lunch of chowder, hot dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Or you can eat outside on the lawn, where once again we'll be serving chili in a bag under the tent. Silent auction bidding closes at 1:30 pm.

Special 300th Gifts
On sale again this year will be two special items for our 300th anniversary: a new Tercentenary booklet, mugs with Ashley Bowen’s view of Marblehead, porcelain mugs with our dove logo, our commemorative box with an image of St. Michael’s by local artist and parishioner Carol Howie Eldridge, plus a very limited number of new Hestia Creations VillageScape Miniature of St. Michael’s—with steeple!

St. Michael’s Thrift Shop will also be open extended hours during the Fair for the Christmas Walk. In addition to a large selection of Christmas items, the Thrift Shop has a changing selection of women and men’s clothing, household items, greeting cards, and seasonal decorations.
